Prepared for The Aluminum Association, and prepared by Martin Marietta Laboratories, Center for Occupational Health Engineering. Ten series of MIG and TIG welding tests were performed with five different alloy combinations to determine emission levels during aluminum welding. The data show that the airborne levels of the various contaminants vary with the type of alloy welded, and the welding process used, and that the welder's position is critical to his exposure to airborne contaminants in the plume. |
