ACI 441R-96 -- High Strength Concrete Columns

441R-96
High Strength Concrete Columns

Published: 1996
Pages: 13
Status: Active
Price: $56.50

This report reviews the behavior of high-strength concrete (HSC) columns. HSC is defined as concrete with compressive strength exceeding 70 MPa (10,000 psi). Research results are used to discuss the effect of cover concrete and parameters related to transverse reinforcement on strength and ductility of HSC columns subjected to concentric load.

The behavior of HSC columns subjected to combined axial load and bending moments is discussed. In addition to discussion on flexureal and axial capacity, the report also focuses on seismic performance of HSC columns.

Contents:

Chapter 1 - Introduction
Chapter 2 - Performance of HSC Columns Under Concentric Loads
Chapter 3 - Performanmce of HSC Columns Under Combined Axial Load and Bending Moment
Chapter 4 - Recommended Research
Chapter 5 - References
Chapter 6 - Notation
