This AISC standard, Specification for Safety-Related Steel Structures for Nuclear Facilities (ANSI/AISC N690-06), dated September 20, 2006, includes both the load and resistance factor design and allowable strength design methods of design, and is a supplement to the AISC 2005 Specification for Structural Steel Buildings. The document applies to the design of safety-related steel structures and steel elements in nuclear facilities and replaces ANSI/AISC N690L-03 and ANSI/AISC N690-94 (R2004). It has been approved by the AISC Committee on Specifications and it is ANSI-accredited.
