Evaluation Findings for the Construction of Slurry Trench Cut-off Walls

1999, 80 pages
$90.80

This Specification, and the appended Notes for Guidance, have been specifically compiled to be used where slurry trench cut-off walls are required to act as barriers to pollution migration. It provides a standard and consistent approach to the design, construction, testing and monitoring of cut-off walls and guidance on the appropriateness of this technique and current best practice. The Specification relates to the use of slurry trench cut-off walls for the control of migration of groundwater, leachate, chemical contaminants and gases. Such cut-off walls, which often include low permeability geomembranes, are excavated under the support of self-hardening cementitious slurry, i.e. as a single-phase process. Cut-off walls constructed by driven methods, two phase processes, or using soil-bentonite are not covered by the Specification.
