The Future of International Construction

2000, 150 pages
$110.00

Are construction activity and economic development positively or negatively related, or is the relationship more complex? Does the role of construction change significantly as economic development proceeds from less developed country status through to advanced industrial country status? Since 1992, the European Construction Economics Research Unit (ECERU) at the University of Reading, has conducted annual surveys of international construction activity, attracting responses from around the globe with the aim of answering some of these questions. This book discusses the findings of the surveys and the underlying research. By examining three time horizons: 25 years, 5 years, and 12 months, predictions are made for short- and medium-term developments and some comparisons are made between predicted and actual outcomes.
