Forensic Engineering: A Professional Approach to Investigation

1999, 192 pages
$100.40

These conference proceedings are from a two day conference, held in September 1998, which raised the profile of forensic engineering, a broadly defined term used to describe the technical investigation of failures which lead, or may lead, to either civil or criminal legal proceedings. Co-sponsored by Health and Safety Executive, the Institution of Structural Engineers, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, the Forensic Engineering Group at the University of Cardiff and the Standing Committee on Structural Safety, these proceedings centre on failures of constructed environments, (from serviceability to catastrophic) and include a variety of case histories covering the investigation of bridge structures.
