About the Editor
Flake C. Campbell retired from Boeing after a 38 year career in the development and manufacturing of materials for aerospace. His research included development of manufacturing processes for metal matrix and polymer matrix composites for the F15, F/A18, AV8B, and C17 aircraft. Most recently, he was Boeing Senior Technical Fellow for Manufacturing Technology at Phantom Works, the research and development organization of Boeing.

Mr. Campbell holds BS and MS degrees in Metallurgical Engineering and an MBA. In 2005 he was awarded a professional honorary degree by the University of Missouri at Rolla. Mr. Campbell has written two books on manufacturing processes and technology for aerospace published by Elsevier Advanced Technology.
