A revision of the 1991 ANSI/ASNT standard, this document provides the minimum requirements for certification which are more stringent than the recommendations of Recommended Practice No. SNT-TC-1A, 1992 edition. It requires central certification plus employer certification of Level III personnel and employer certification of Levels I and II. It requires Level III responsibility for all phases of NDT operations and contains sanctions for improper performance. The standard also includes requirements for NDT instructors. Included in this revision are the visual testing requirements.
