Connecting Flange Joint Between Tapping Sleeves and Tapping Valves

This MSS Standard covers the dimensions of the positioning recess and mating raised face of the connecting flanges between tapping sleeves and tapping valves. This recess in the sleeve and raised face on the valve serves to insure proper alignment of the valve on the tapping sleeve but does not affect either strength or tighteness of the joint.
