59A(06) New safeguards for LNG plants across the United States! Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plants associated with pipelines must meet the requirements of NFPA 59A , the Standard adopted by D.O.T. and referenced by other agencies including the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Other changes improve plant security, operations, and maintenance. The 2006 NFPA 59A presents a new security assessment requirement that impacts all LNG facilities. This edition also introduces revised sizing of pumps to remove rainwater from diked areas; and includes an expanded section on berthing, hose, and loading arm requirements for LNG tankers at marine facilities. |
