NFPA
80A(07)
Recommended Practice for Protection of Buildings from Exterior Fire Exposures,
2007 Edition
Softbound,
Approx. 15 pp., 2007
$39.00
Trust NFPA 80A to protect against fire spread from
one building to another!
NFPA 80A addresses separation distances between buildings
to limit exterior fire spread based on exterior openings and other construction
features.
Among the changes in the 2007 edition are:
-
Revised definition of "noncombustible material"
that uses the language in NFPA 220: Types of Building Construction
-
Change in terminology from "automatic deluge
water curtain" and "automatic outside water curtain"
to "automatic exposure protection sprinklers systems". "Water
curtain" denotes a single line of sprinklers at the top of the
structure along the exposed side, which is adequate for buildings
of only one story, The new terminology more accurately describes protection
needs whether the exposed building is one or more stories in height.
-
Additional guidance on opening protectives
-
Revised Annex A provides additional background and
guidance on provisions
-
Language clarifications that help users better understand
the committee's intent in a number of sections.
