Approx. 22 pp., 2006
$45.00

NFPA 286 describes a method for determining the contribution of interior finish materials to room fire growth during specified fire exposure conditions. It evaluates the flammability characteristics of wall and ceiling interior finish, other than textile wall coverings, where such materials constitute the exposed interior surfaces of buildings.

The 2006 edition includes:

  • Organizational and editorial changes to improve the application of the test method particularly with regard to the test procedure
  • Clarification of the document's intent
  • Technical changes relating to recording and documentation of the fire test

Formatting and editorial changes clarify requirements, improve readability, and facilitate cross-referencing with other NFPA codes and standards.
