NFPA 307(06)
Standard for the Construction and Fire Protection of Marine Terminals, Piers, and Wharves
Approx. 30 pp., 2006
$45.00

Put safety first by working with industry best practices!

NFPA 307 provides general principles for the construction and fire protection of marine terminals, piers, and wharves. Special use piers and wharf structures that differ in design and construction from cargo handling piers require special considerations based on the type and function of the structure.

The 2006 edition improves safety with changes to provisions concerning:

  • Piers and wharves
  • Design criteria for sprinkler systems. Level of hazard was increased from "Extra Hazard (Group 1)" to "Group A Plastic" to provide better protection.
  • Terminal yards
  • Hazardous materials storage
  • General terminal operations
  • Miscellaneous installations and operations

Formatting and editorial changes clarify requirements, improve readability, and facilitate cross-referencing with other NFPA codes and standards.
