NFPA 2112(07)
Standard on Flame-Resistant Garments for Protection of Industrial Personnel Against Flash Fire

Approx. 27 pp., 2007
$45.00

NFPA 2112 safeguards industrial workers from flash fire dangers with certified flame-resistant clothing!

Primarily applicable to garment manufacturers, NFPA 2112 provides the minimum design, performance, certification requirements and test methods for flame-resistant garments for use in areas at risk from flash fires-- such as those where flammable gases or vapors, or combustible dusts might be present. (Clothing worn by emergency responders is not covered.)

New in the 2007 edition:

  • A new document scope, revised applications, and added references relate to NFPA 2113 for garment selection based upon required hazard assessments.
  • Revised requirements for thermal protective performance testing (TPP) to correlate with updated ASTM test methods for procedures and apparatus.
  • Added definitions for "single-use" and "limited-use" garments distinguish these garment types and application from those covered within the scope of this Standard. All definitions are up-to-date with the NFPA Glossary of Terms.

NFPA 2112 and its companion document for garment end users, NFPA 2113, are the first documents developed for industrial flash fire protective garments in the United States .
